At its worst Glenugie was simply a very good old-style coastal highland malt. At its best it is one of the most compelling, spectacular and entertaining spirits produced at any distillery anywhere.
A masterly whisky of resinous coastal depth, magnificent, towering fruit quality and endless complexity and length. Sadly it is also increasingly rare and, while this G&M bottling is by no means the greatest example, it is a phenomenal whisky that provides and great window into the wonders of Glenugie. Truly a distillery that you should endeavor to taste while you still can.
