This 43-year-old is one of the relatively early bottlings andĀ also one of the best: a remarkable example of aged, pre-war Mortlach, a moving and poetic ode to an extinct style of whisky and the men and women that made it. If you've never tasted the brilliance that is pre-war, long-aged Scottish whisky then this is a fine place to start, it's symphonic stuff.
