Bottled at a hearty 46%, the 21-year-old Pulteney was always more luxurious and honey-driven thanĀ its iconic stablemate, the uber-salty 17-year-old (subsequently replaced by the 18-year-old). ThisĀ 21-year-oldĀ wasĀ intenseĀ and oily in nature withĀ prominent fruit and subtle wood influence.
A long-running classic from the distillery's rich past, Old Pulteney 21-year-old is oneĀ of the most complex and enjoyable discontinued expressions from this great distillery and won Best Whisky in the World World in Jim Murray's 2012 Whisky Bible with an epic score of 97.5 points.
