Stauning distillery's provocatively-titled Bastard Batch #1 is a Danish rye whisky, made with a mashbill of 70% rye and 30% barley, both of which are locally-grown and floor-malted at the distillery.

Stauning Bastard is the second release in Stauning's experimental Research Series, and has been aged for a minimum of three years in virgin oak casks before being re-racked into ex-mezcal casks from Oro de Oaxaca for a six month finishing period, and bottled at 46.3% without filtration - so there may be a little harmless cask residue in the bottle.
