This is one of the two 10 year old Whistle Pig single barrels specially selected by Wayne, Harrison and Tim and bottled exclusively for Whisky-Online.

We have selected these two casks to highlight the many variances in flavour you can find from barrel to barrel. Cask 102130 is the more elegant, herbaceous rye, with a lovely interplay of peppery spice and balancing sweetness.

Available only at Whisky-Online, Barrel #102130 was aged for 10 years in Warehouse 2, Rick C, Level 3 at the WhistlePig farm before being hand-bottled at 52.5% (105 US Proof).

WhistlePig 10-year-old Barrel #102130 is limited to just 120 individually numbered 75cl bottles and 144 miniatures (5cl).

Tasting Notes

By Whisky-Online

Nose: Nicely balanced with dried herbs, fresh fennel and subtle wood glue; develops a vanilla creaminess alongside varnished wood aromas, dried bark and furniture polish. 

Palate: Sweet initially, with brown sugar and golden syrup, then turns a little menthol with eucalyptus hints, then clove, fennel, cardamom, and black pepper.

Finish: Good length, warm but not hot. The peppery spice and dried herbs persist longest.

Comments: Plenty of flavour, very herbaceous but good balance and impressive complexity.
