This cask has an almost schizophrenic character with intense notes of polish, varnish and clean oak balanced by a thrilling tropical intensity on the other hand. Almost like two whiskies in one. Neither part dominates, the whisky simply swings wildly from one aspect to the other. A mesmerising and fascinating dram. Congratulations to Benriach for such keen eyed cask selection.
