This 58-year-old Glen Grant 1948 came from single cask 2149, a first fill sherry butt. The 1940s distillates were peatier, and at this age the peat notes come through as the most stunningly elegant, medicinal, smoky notes with layer upon layer of exotic fruit complexity underneath. Incredible whisky once again from Gordon & MacPhail.
